Established in 1837, the mill that produces this fabric was founded in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, the very same year Queen Victoria ascended to the British throne. Ever since their establishment, bales of raw wool have arrived at the mill's doorstep to begin the process of creating beautiful fabrics. They are now one of Great Britain's last remaining vertical wool mills, meaning they are among a select few who continue to complete all processes on one site.
Our merino lambswool is soft, smooth and hypoallergenic, its twill weave catching delicate flecks of tonal colour. The wool is rich in lanolin and tightly woven to provide natural water repellence and durability, providing insulation and warmth. Wool is a naturally sustainable fibre, deriving from nature and returning to nature in a cradle to grave circular cycle - biodegrading naturally back into the earth within months releasing its valuable nutrients back into the soil.
