A perfect mix of function and sophistication, the Shell gilet is an ideal layer to any outfit.  

A satin highlight runs along the edge front opening, giving warmth to the face.It leads elegantly into the hood, which, when worn down, offers an architectural drape, and, when worn up, delivers real protection against any drizzle. Balancing the pop of drama from the highlight, drop shoulders bring a casual tone, making it perfect for day to evening transitions. 

Consciously placed front darts trace the body from chest to hip, guiding the eye toward diagonal, satin-highlighted pockets that wrap elegantly into the side seam. This considered line subtly elongates the frame from every angle. Invisible snap tape allows the front to close seamlessly, preserving the clean silhouette while making the piece effortless to slip on and makes running out of the door all that easier.

Crafted from dense, felted Melton wool, the fabric offers exceptional warmth and structure while maintaining a smooth, sculptural form. Naturally rich in lanolin and tightly woven, it provides durability, insulation, and subtle water repellence - luxury at no expense for wearability.

Established in 1837, the mill that produces this fabric was founded in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, the very same year Queen Victoria ascended to the British throne. Ever since their establishment, bales of raw wool have arrived at the mill's doorstep to begin the process of creating beautiful fabrics. They are now one of Great Britain's last remaining vertical wool mills, meaning they are among a select few who continue to complete all processes on one site.

Our Melton wool is defined by its felted, dense and thick texture - making it an incredibly durable fabric. The wool is rich in lanolin and tightly woven to provide natural water repellence and durability, providing insulation and warmth. Wool is a naturally sustainable fibre, deriving from nature and returning to nature in a cradle to grave circular cycle - biodegrading naturally back into the earth within months releasing its valuable nutrients back into the soil.

Contrast: 58% Polyester, 42% Acetate

This easy fit garment has a lean silhouette with 3-dimensional sculpting of pocket flatter and differentiate from the waistline.
