Our cotton is sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), supporting more responsible cotton production with a focus on environmental stewardship, reduced water use and improved livelihoods for farming communities.
Velvet’s history stretches back thousands of years, with early pile-woven textiles appearing as far back as 2000 BCE in Egypt. Once crafted from silk and prized for its intricate craftsmanship, velvet evolved through centuries of textile innovation. During the Industrial Revolution, cotton velvet emerged as a more accessible interpretation, its shorter, sturdier pile capturing the depth and softness of silk velvet. Today, it retains that sense of richness while offering the practicality of cotton.
