Our signature suiting cloth is woven from the finest 100% tropical Merino wool gabardine, sourced from a distinguished Japanese mill established in 1896. Revered for its exceptionally fine weave and uncompromising environmental standards, the mill operates within a fully vertical supply chain - from spinning the yarn and constructing its dense gabardine weave, to dyeing and rigorous quality control - each stage defined by the precision synonymous with Japanese craftsmanship.
The result is a superbly refined mid-weight cloth (196 g/m²) that offers quality and consistency, smooth yet firm hand, beautiful drape and tailoring structure in equal measures. Its jet black remains unwavering - true and consistent across decades, with no variation in tone from one batch to the next. Naturally temperate and odour resistant, it performs across the seasons: keeping you cool and fresh in warmer weather and warm when temperatures drop.
